I realized my passion for pattern making during this assignment. I didn’t realize before this assignment how diverse pattern making can be and how many different objects you can place designs on. This particular pattern family is aimed at women in their twenties that are on the go. As I was designing, I was picturing working women in urban cities that enjoy fashion but also need to be realistic about their business field.
I relied a lot on my mood board throughout the process. My board was filled with a lot of florals and organic shapes. I used a lot of that theme in my designs but also carried in geometric shapes to give more of a serious professional feel. The colors I used where neutral with a pop of color which I felt gave the pattern design an overall joyful yet professional vibe.
